![]() However it's difficult to know how they could make it better without making the card text way too wordy. Given that there are currently a lot of game inconsistencies which are currently under review I, personally, take that comment as encouraging that making it clearer may be something that will be considered. Ben has specifically acknowledged that this might be considered a problem when he said "maybe too weird". The way it works is perfectly sensible given the mechanic but the mechanic isn't clear from the wording. It also means you can silence it before it duplicates to stop it splitting. For example, if you faceless manipulator it before it duplicates, or if you get a copy via Mirror Entity the copy will also split at the end of the turn even though the copies were not played and so, don't trigger battlecries. The replication itself is not the battlecry which is why Brann simply causes the effect to be put on the ooze twice in succession rather than causing the replication to occur twice in succession. It works in a way that's unusual to any other card in Hearthstone but that weirdness is necessary for the effect to work without balance issues.īasically, the way ooze works is that, when you play it, the battecry puts a one-off effect on the ooze causing it to replicate at the end of the turn. ![]() He has maintained that Echoing Ooze is weird from the moment the card came out. ![]() He's the lead designer on Hearthstone and devotes far more time than most such designers in keeping the general public informed about the design process and decisions that go into it and in answering user's questions. However, he is easily the most qualified spokesperson as he, together with Eric Dodds, were the ones who created and designed Hearthstone from the start. The ooze clearly has a wording problem witth Bran and he acts like it's somewhat weird, but can't do anything about it, like he doesn't work there.įor a buffoon he made a pretty successful card game!īen Brode wasn't speaking as a spokesperson he was answering a tweet. ![]()
